New Patient Exam

New Patient Exam

When you arrive for your first visit and exam, you will be greeted by our friendly staff in the reception area, where you can enjoy coffee, water or juice while completing any necessary information.

You will receive any needed 2D digital x-rays. Then you will meet with Dr. Sanders, who will take the needed time to discuss your condition and listen to any of your immediate concerns. Dr. Sanders will then conduct a very thorough oral exam, which includes cancer screening.

Based on his findings and your smile goals, Dr. Sanders will explain your options and recommend the best treatment plan for you. He will take the time to listen what you have to say and answer any of your questions.

Bone Grafting & Bone Regeneration

Bone Grafting & Bone Regeneration

When teeth have been missing for a long time, the resulting bone loss may make it necessary to receive bone grafting to augment the jawbone. Dr. Sanders performs minimally invasive bone regeneration to rebuild the necessary bone support. He also uses special growth factors which reduce swelling and postsurgery discomfort and significantly speed the healing process.

Oral Cancer Screenings and Biopsies

Oral Cancer Screenings and Biopsies

As part of the new patient exam, as well as routine check-ups, Dr. Sanders may inspect your oral tissues using a special instrument whose light detects any tissue abnormality. The exam also includes screening for oral cancer. If caught early on, oral cancer is highly treatable, so early detection is important.

Children’s Periodontal Services

Children’s Periodontal Services

Although periodontal problems are less frequent for children than for adults, children can have issues with gum and oral soft tissues that require care. Dr. Sanders and our friendly staff provide services in a caring and reassuring manner. Dr. Sanders will take the time to explain what is happening so that you and your child understand what is being recommended.

Frenectomies for Lip- and Tongue-Tie

Frenectomies for Lip- and Tongue-Tie

When the tissue that connects the mouth and the tongue or lip (known as the frenum) is too strong or too short, it can restrict the movement of the tongue or lips. This occurs frequently in newborn babies and can make breastfeeding difficult.

If the condition is not corrected, it can lead to problems with speech, eating and overall oral health. Dr. Sanders performs gentle removal of the frenum that inhibits proper movement of the tongue or lips.

Tooth Exposure for Orthodontics

Tooth Exposure for Orthodontics

Teeth sometimes fail to break through the gumline or move into their natural position in the dental arch. This is called an impacted tooth. Such a tooth needs to be exposed so that further orthodontic treatment can be applied and the tooth brought to its proper place. Dr. Sanders will gently remove the gum and any overlying bone to expose the crown so that an orthodontic bracket can be placed on the tooth in preparation for the orthodontic procedure.

Accelerated Orthodontics

Accelerated Orthodontics

Dr. Sanders performs an advanced, comfortable bone procedure—known as “Wilckodontics ®” or “Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics TM”—that reduces the length of orthodontic treatment to as much as 50 percent of regular treatment time. That means that instead of being in braces from 12 to 24 months, you can be in and out of braces within 6 to 12 months.
